Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all subscription plans and services offered by Lemaistre Lab Technologies LLP ("Chatref," "we," "us," or "our") through the Chatref platform at https://chatref.ai.

1. Subscription Plans

Chatref offers the following subscription plans:

All paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through our authorized payment provider.


2. Cancellation Policy

2.1 How to Cancel

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard at app.chatref.ai by navigating to Settings > Billing > Cancel Subscription, or through the "Manage subscription" link in your transaction confirmation email.

2.2 Effect of Cancellation

  • Cancellation stops auto-renewal at the end of the current billing period.
  • Your paid plan features remain accessible until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • At the end of that period, your workspace is downgraded to the Free plan (100 messages per month).
  • All your data is preserved — your chatbots, knowledge base, training data, and configurations remain intact.
  • You may resubscribe to any paid plan at any time.

3. Refund Policy

3.1 14-Day Refund Right

You may request a full refund of any paid Transaction with Chatref within 14 calendar days from the date of the Transaction. This 14-day refund right applies to:

  • One-time purchases.
  • The first payment under a monthly or annual subscription.
  • Each annual renewal of an annual subscription, starting on the day the subscription auto-renews.
  • If a subscription includes a free trial, a fresh 14-day period starts on the day the trial ends.

Where local consumer protection laws grant you a longer or unconditional withdrawal right, that right will always apply and is not limited by this Policy.

3.2 How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact us within the 14-day window using any of the following methods:

  • Use the "View receipt" or "Manage subscription" link in your Transaction confirmation email.
  • Email us at [email protected] with your registered email address and the transaction/payment ID.

3.3 Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds are processed using the same payment method used for the original Transaction, where possible.
  • Refunds are issued within 14 days of approval of the request.
  • Once a refund is issued, access to the relevant paid Product will cease and the workspace will be downgraded to the Free plan.

3.4 Fraud and Abuse

Refunds will not be issued where there is evidence of fraud, refund abuse, or other manipulative behaviour.


4. Free Plan

The Free plan does not involve any charges, so no refund applies to the Free plan. You may use the Free plan indefinitely at no cost with 100 messages per month.


5. Plan Upgrades & Downgrades

  • Upgrades take effect immediately. You will be charged the difference for the remainder of the billing cycle or the full amount for the new plan.
  • Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
  • The 14-day refund right in section 3.1 continues to apply to the Transaction for the upgrade or new plan.

6. Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute through your bank or payment provider without first contacting us, we reserve the right to suspend your account pending resolution. We encourage you to reach out to [email protected] before filing a dispute so we can resolve the matter directly.


7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

This policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
