How do I install the desktop app for your family law software?

Visit our downloads page and select the version for your operating system. The installer package includes the desktop app, a lightweight runtime, and an automatic updater. Before you begin, make sure your device meets the minimum system requirements listed in the FAQ below. The download is free - your account prepaid credit covers usage, not the app itself.

Launch the installer and follow the on-screen prompts. The setup wizard will guide you through:

What are the system requirements for the desktop app? Windows 10 or later, macOS 11 or later, or a modern Linux distribution (Ubuntu 22.04+). At least 4 GB of RAM, 500 MB of available disk space, and an active internet connection are required. The app does not support mobile operating systems - use our responsive web version on tablets and phones.

Can I use the software without installing the app? Yes. Every feature of the family law software is accessible through a web browser by logging in at app.chatref.ai. The desktop app adds offline drafts, native notifications, and quicker access to the AI agents, but it is not mandatory. Your knowledge base and custom actions remain the same across both.
